Household waste is collected once a week on TUESDAYS.

 Containers

There are some inherent risks and dangers to the municipal employees in the collection of household waste. In order to minimize these risks, your cooperation is requested.

Some situations which are often the cause of injuries:

  • Garbage cans too heavy (more than 25 kilos or 55 lbs)
  • Non-conforming containers (45 gallon or 205 litre barrels, containers with openings that are smaller than their base, containers without handles…).

 Approved Containers

a) A water-tight garbage can, made of metal or plastic, with handles, with or without a lid and with a     maximum capacity of 100 litres.

b) A plastic garbage bag with a minimum thickness of 0.040 mm (1.57 ml).

  1. The maximum weight of an authorized container filled with solid waste must not exceed twenty five kilograms (25 kg) in cases where the garbage collection is performed manually.
  2. Garbage containers must be placed by the roadside before 7:00 am Tuesday.
  3. Garbage must not be left on trailers or wheel barrows.  It must be left directly on the ground.
