Recycling is now robotized and certain standards will be put into operation. The most frequent problem that we encounter is that recycling bins are not properly placed along the side of the roadway. The requirements are that the logos must be visible at a distance of a maximum of 1.5metres and have free space of 60 centimetres on each side or between bins.

Furthermore, all recycling bins of less than 64 litres will not be picked up. All recycling material that is not in the bins will not be picked up. All boxes or large cardboards must be cut and placed in the bins and the cover must be closed. We are asking for your cooperation as we strive to increase the volume of recycled material as we will all benefit from this action.

In fact, since 2006, we must pay a royalty to the provincial government for each metric tonne that is sent to the landfill sites. One interesting fact is that we also receive a discount for all recycled material sold by the sorting sites. This will not only be an advantage for the citizens, it will also benefit the environment. For those of you who do not have a recycling bin, you can get one at the city workshop during regular business hours.
