The mandate of the clerk’s office is to ensure that the decisions taken by the municipal council as well as by the municipal administrative personnel comply with the laws and regulations in effect. He is also the custodian of the municipal archives and all the documents that comprise them.

In addition, the clerk writes the municipal by-laws, writes the minutes of the council proceedings, and prepares the public notices.  He manages the documents, the portfolio of general insurance, and is responsible for the access to information according to the Access to Information and Privacy Act. He processes the creation of calls for public offers.
